February 1-3, 2008 The ADHA had a booth at the 2008 Arkansas Sportshow in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  As usual this was a great event and we were glad to be a part of it.  Click here to view pictures from this event.

9-22-07 The ADHA co-sponsored the National Hunting & Fishing Day Event at the Grandview Prairie Education Center near Hope.  The AG&FC and ADHA had a Daisy Air Rifle Shoot, Kids Genesis Bow Shoot, Skeet Shooting, Treestand Safety Seminar, a real nice exhibit of longbows and arrowheads, fishing derby, K-9 Demonstration, Preschool Tent, Archaeology, The Danger Zone, Baitcasting and a Scavenger Hunt.  Approximately 150 kids attended this very exciting event.  Everyone had a great time and learned a lot about the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and shooting sports!  Click here to see pictures from the event.

8-4-07 Arkansas Deer Hunters Alliance 2007 Annual Meeting was held at Gander Mountain in North Little Rock.  There were 22 people in attendance, including all officers and directors, plus several members.  Special guest speakers for the meeting were Cory Gray and Lucy Moreland.  Cory gave a presentation on last years deer harvest date and also updated everyone on the current Deer Management Plan Revision process.  Lucy spoke about the upcoming youth camp that will be co-sponsored by the AG&FC and ADHA.  This will be a very special event for the youth and we're going to need lots of help.  Click here to read more.  Click here to see pictures from the event.

6-30-07 The ADHA had a booth at the 10th Annual Arkansas Elk Festival that was conducted in Jasper, Arkansas on June 30, 2007.  The booth was an overwhelming success as we signed up about 50 new members and two new Charter Members.  This date was the culmination of our year long Private Lands Elk Hunt giveaway incentive program.  Every new member and referring member over the past year was eligible to win.  We conducted the drawing after the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission concluded their drawings.  The winner was Damian Tillman, a new member that joined ADHA at Jasper!  The festival had an excellent turnout, and we all had a great time.

5-26-07  The ADHA held a "Youth Deer Day" at the Delta Rivers Nature Center in Pine Bluff.  Everyone in attendance had a great time.  There were several things going on throughout the day, including; Youth Bow Shoot by Glenn Berry, Duck Dog Training by Bo Brewer, GPS Demonstration by Marty Mitchell, Tree Stand Safety Seminar by Allen Smith.  Deer Burgers, Deer Brats, Hot Dogs, etc. were cooked by Jeff Vaughn and Ronnie Shelton, and enjoyed by everyone!  Door prizes were donated by Hunter's Refuge, Jim's Trading Post, and DJ's Gun Shop.

4-21-07 The ADHA and AG&FC held a "Youth Deer Day" in Yellville, Arkansas.  We had well over 300 in attendance with lots of fun activities for the kids. Free food and drinks were served and everyone enjoyed the good food and fellowship.  Pictures from the event are here and here.

2-17-07 The ADHA held an informal Region One Dinner at the Beach Club Barbque in Hardy on Saturday 02/17/2007 at 6:30 pm. There was a good turnout and everyone enjoyed the good food and fellowship.  Pictures from the dinner are here.

02-2,3,4-07 The annual Arkansas Sportshow – Big Buck Extravaganza was be held in Jonesboro, Arkansas at Arkansas State University – Convocation Center on February 2, 3 & 4, 2007. The Arkansas Deer Hunters Association participated with our booth. Several ADHA members volunteered to assist with attending the booth. For more information go to: www.arsportshow.com/home.php

01-26~28-07 The 2007 Arkansas Big Buck Classic will was held in Little Rock at the Arkansas State Fair Grounds on January 26-28. ADHA was represented with a booth which several members volunteered to help run. For additional information go to: www.bigbuckclassic.com

01-09-07 The Wildlife Management Division of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission hosts public meetings the first week of January each year as a part of the Commission’s annual hunting regulations process. AG&FC will conduct its annual Wildlife (General Hunting) Public Meeting on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. These meetings are to allow sportsmen to voice their opinions about hunting regulation and seasons. Sportsmen who are unable to attend these meetings may also send their comments via email.

11-02-06 The ADHA Deer Workshop was held on 10/24 at Crowley's Ridge Nature Center in Jonesboro on Thursday, November 2, 2006. The workshop consisted of several deer related topics with Cory Gray, State Deer Program Coodinator, and an AG&FC area biologist speaking. Refreshments were be served (including deer summer sausage, deer jerky, deer brats, and drinks).

8-26-06 The ADHA sponsored Arkansas DeerHunters Alliance 3D Bow Shoot at Camp Robinson and a good time was had by all.  Pictures from the tourney are here.

8-5-06 The ADHA held its annual meeting at Gander Mountain Store in Sherwood AR August 5, 2006 from 9 AM until 5 PM. Featured speakers were; Cory Gray, State Deer Program Coordinator with the AGFC,  and Larry Mallard, White River National Wildlife Refuge Manager.

5-22-06 ADHA quarterly newsletters were mailed out.  If you didn't receive one, please contact an ADHA representative.

5-20-06 ADHA Family Dinner:  The ADHA had a regional dinner and meeting at Ryan's Steakhouse in Jonesboro.  35 members and their families attended for great food and fellowship.

4-1-06
The winner of the ADHA/Modern Muzzleloading private lands Arkansas Elk Hunt was drawn.  ADHA member Ron Burnett of Texarkana, TX was the lucky winner.

3-4-06
The ADHA purchased a 5'x10' Roadmaster trailer for transporting the ADHA booth to fairs and shows.  As the ADHA has grown, so has our property.  This keeps all booth materials in one place and easily transportable.

ADHA Family Deer Day a Huge Success  Pictures

What has the ADHA done for Arkansas Deer Hunters??

In it's first full year, here are some of the accomplishments of the ADHA:

-We lobbied the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to get the 15 days of archery season back at end of February
-We lobbied the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to get baiting to first of February
-We have gotten on the AGFC agenda and presented the ADHA's members stance on these and other issues
-We have had get togethers, hunts, and meetings to discuss what direction our members wanted for Arkansas deer hunting.
-We have been a voice for Arkansas deer hunters
-We held educational Seminars for the hunters. IE Family Deer Day and Annual Meeting
-We provided hunting related activities for the youth to spark interest via the Family Deer Day
-We promoted family involvement in the sport of Deer Hunting
-We provided a communication link between members and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission
-We provide private communications for members. IE Chat Board
-We lobbied for Safety Regulations. IE Shooting from Moving Vehicle
-We lobbied for a regulation outlawing shooting from 4 wheelers
-We lobbied to get Handgun hunting back in zones 4 and 5.
